Aug. 3, 1937 – Sept. 21, 2025

Eufaula resident Janet Lorea Bailey, 88, was born in Trinidad, Colo., on Aug. 3, 1937, and passed away on Sept. 21 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

Her father was Michael Workman, and mother, Julia Dabney Workman Moore.

She and Truman Bailey were married in Eureka Springs, Ark. in 2015.

Janet was a member of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for more than 45 years and a member of the Red Hat Ladies Club for more than 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her first husband Bruce Dale Van Matre of 46 years; brother Michael Workman; daughter Terry Lynn Zorc of Rye, Colo., and daughter Vicki Jo Harter of Oak Creek, Colo.

She is survived by her second husband, Truman Bailey; daughters Debby Van Matre of Bullhead City, AZ; Kelly Jordan and husband Robert Jordan of Villa Park, CA, Nancy Jones and husband Troy Brown of Fort Mohave, AZ; Bruce Elton Van Matre of Colorado City, CO, stepdaughter Julie Bailey Fulkerson and husband Eric Fulkerson, and stepson Mike Bailey; sister Julie Workman Storm of Pueblo, CO; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
