WILBURTON – Eastern Oklahoma State College will host the 6th Annual Agricultural Hall of Fame Celebration on Friday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m. in the newly-renovated Goddard Building on the Wilburton campus. This year’s inductee is longtime forestry educator and administrator, Eddie Woods.
Guests will enjoy a steak and sausage dinner, expertly prepared from Eastern Meats and grilled on-site by CD Land Management. Entertainment for the evening will be provided by country singer Bo Phillips.
Tickets to the celebration are $80 and will admit two people, including one entry into the raffle for a Kawasaki Brute Force 450 ATV. Additional raffle tickets may be purchased for $30 each or four for $100. Guests will also have the opportunity to bid on exclusive items, including travel and hunting trips, during the auction. Tickets can be purchased online at eosc.edu/aghof, from one of Eastern’s student Agricultural Ambassadors, or in the Agriculture Division office in 100 Baker Hall. RSVP by Dec. 1 is required for attendance.
A native of Talihina and a proud Eastern alum, Woods joined the Eastern faculty in 1986 after earning degrees in forest management and forest resources from Oklahoma State University. During his 33-year tenure at Eastern, he taught forestry and agriculture courses, served as Forestry Department Chairman, and was Dean of Agriculture from 2013 until his retirement in 2019.
He now continues to serve Eastern as an adjunct professor while also working as District Forester with Oklahoma Forestry Services in Wilburton.
