Our human identity is always defined by relationships and so is our Christian identity. The Psalmist reflects this idea in asking who are in relation to God.
what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?
You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor.
You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.
Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
Psalm 8:4-9 Who we are and our worth and value are not determined by us or by others, but by God. And who are we in God’s eye?
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure. 1 John 3:1-3 We have great worth in the eyes of God. We are not worthy to be his servants but his made us his children. I hope that today you know that you Jesus wants to make you a child of the King. The grace of God is recieved by faith alone and our hope is that you place your faith in Jesus today.
