Lady Ironheads top Muldrow on senior night
By Rodney Haltom sports EDITOR,

It was a night to remember for the Eufaula Lady Ironheads. Behind a dazzling performance from pitcher Leah Green and clutch contributions from seniors Emma Lovett and Rayleigh Peterson, Eufaula shut out the Muldrow Bulldogs 4-0 on senior night.

Green was unstoppable in the circle, striking out 12 batters while allowing just two hits and no runs in seven innings. Her command kept Muldrow off balance all evening, while the Ironheads’ defense stood tall behind her. A passed ball in the first inning gave Eufaula an early 1-0 lead, and from there, Green took control.

The Lady Ironheads padded their advantage in the third inning. After Muldrow committed an error, Ava Neill grounded out to bring in another run. Moments later, another miscue by the Bulldogs allowed Eufaula to plate one more, making it 3-0.

Lovett, one of the honored seniors, delivered in the middle of the lineup with a key hit that drove in two runs, finishing her night 1-for-2 at the plate. Fellow senior Peterson set the tone at the top of the order, sparking the offense with a 3-for-4 outing. Green also helped herself with two hits at the plate.

For Muldrow, Jaydin Dean worked six innings, giving up four runs (only one earned) on seven hits while striking out two. Kaydence Young and Noelia Parga managed the Bulldogs’ only hits.

As the final out was recorded, the scoreboard told the story: Ironheads 4, Bulldogs 0. But for Lovett and Peterson, the victory was about more than runs and hits—it was about leaving their mark on Chris Gawf Field one last time as seniors.

“These girls have given everything to this program,” head coach Ryan Green said. “It’s only fitting they go out with a win and a night to remember.”

Lady Ironheads dominate in 9-0 shutout over Okemah

The Eufaula Lady Ironheads put together a complete performance Monday night, storming past the Okemah Lady Panthers with a commanding 9-0 victory.

Eufaula wasted no time seizing momentum in the opening inning. Leah Green ripped a triple to drive in the game’s first run, an error pushed another across, and Abby Box crushed a two-run triple to cap the fast start.

Green not only sparked the offense, she also owned the circle. The ace spun a two-hit shutout over five innings, fanning nine batters and keeping Okemah off the scoreboard.

The Lady Ironheads pounded out 10 hits in the win, with Green leading the charge at the plate as well, collecting two hits and two RBIs. Box and Rayleigh Peterson also drove in a pair of runs each to fuel the offensive outburst.

Okemah’s McGirt battled for five innings but surrendered nine runs (six earned) on 10 hits. Kinley Cook and Gaxiola managed the only two hits for the Lady Panthers.

With dominant pitching, timely hitting, and aggressive base running, the Lady Ironheads showed why they’re a force to be reckoned with this season.

Green powers Lady Ironheads past Sallisaw with bat and arm

Eufaula sophomore Leah Green was unstoppable on both sides of the ball as the Eufaula Lady Ironheads stormed past the Sallisaw Lady Black Diamonds 9-4 on Tuesday night at Chris Gawf Field.

Green turned in a monster night at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a towering home run to left field in the sixth inning, plus singles in the first and third frames. She drove in three runs and sparked the Lady Ironheads’ offense from start to finish.

Eufaula jumped out fast, plating a run in the opening inning on Green’s RBI single, then stretched the lead to 5-0 in the third after Briley Gragg ripped a clutch single. By the sixth, the Lady Ironheads had broken things wide open, tacking on three more runs, highlighted by Green’s no-doubt blast.

Inside the circle, Green kept Sallisaw in check all night. The right-hander scattered three hits over seven innings and struck out five while not allowing an earned run. Her dominance on the mound matched her firepower at the plate, sealing the complete game win.

Jolee Curson took the loss for Black Diamonds. The hurler went six innings, giving up nine runs (seven earned) on 15 hits, striking out two and walking two.

The Lady Ironheads racked up 15 hits in the victory. Green and Rayleigh Peterson each pounded out three hits, while Gragg and Hannah Needham added multiple knocks of their own. Eufaula also turned aggressive base running into an advantage, swiping six stolen bases on the night.

Sallisaw was led by Sydney Weedon, who collected two hits and drove in a run at the top of the lineup. Jaycie Cox and Jolee Curson also added RBIs for the Black Diamonds, but the Lady Ironheads’ early punch proved too much to overcome.
