Tulsa — On Tuesday, Oct. 7, Oklahoma Warriors Honor Flight will proudly escort 67 Oklahoma Veterans on a once-ina- lifetime journey to Washington, D.C., to visit the memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifice.

Of those flying, 62 served in the Vietnam War, three in the Korean War, and two in both — a poignant reminder of the urgency driving the organization’s mission.

“Every year, the list of veterans we serve gets shorter—not because they’re no longer interested, but because we simply didn’t reach them in time,” said Flight Director Lana Hurt.

“We’ve lost too many waiting to fly. It’s a race against time, and every donation helps us give one more hero their long-overdue tribute.”

Despite a waiting list of over 200 veterans, the organization has been limited to one flight per year, primarily due to funding constraints.

Each Honor Flight costs approximately $130,000, covering airfare, meals, medical support, transportation, and lodging—all provided at no cost to the veterans. Send-Off Ceremony: Monday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Tulsa Veterans will begin arriving at 3 p.m. for pre-ceremony events, including dinner and guardian assignments.

Welcome Home Celebration:

Tuesday, Oct. 7 at approximately 9 p.m.

Oklahoma Warriors Honor Flight invites all Oklahomans to attend either event, wave flags, cheer, and help deliver the emotional homecoming that many of these veterans were denied decades ago.
