Eufaula Police Chief David Bryning, always operating on a tight budget, is asking for donations for a number of items that will allow him to add another K9 unit. which would be beneficial to the department’s fight against crime.
The equipment and approximate cost include: – Certified K9 with 30-day certified handler course: $17,500 – K9 heat and door pop system $1,500 – K9 transport cage for new vehicle $4,000 – K9 bite sleeve: $200 – K9 trauma kit: $250 – Muzzle: $100 – Water bowls: $60 “I realize there are many items on this list and the costs are quite high to outfit an additional K9 unit, but I believe having a second department K9 will bring invaluable safety to our City and the Department personnel,” Bryning said.
