Sports fans should be on the edge of their seats as fall sports is right around the corner. With Oklahoma schools starting in August you can bet that student athletes are ready to showcase their talents in football, fast-pitch softball, baseball and cross-country.

Both Eufaula and Checotah softball teams are looking toward what the future may hold as both teams’ lose key players to graduation. The same goes for the Lady Wildcats cross-country team as the Folkner twins graduated.

The football teams are reloading after graduating a large group of seniors. Eufaula will have a new quarterback in Luke Hodgins and Checotah will look for Elijah Thomas’ replacement at the receiver position.

Both teams have solid running backs in Peter Lee at Eufaula and Jayden Ellen at Checotah. The seasons will kick-off in late August with both teams participating in scrimmages prior to the season kick-off. So get your pompoms out and school swag as we get ready for the 2025 season together.
