Paul Grant Rackley

Dec. 6, 1933 – June 29, 2025

Paul Grant Rackley passed peacefully on Sunday, June 29, 2025, in McAlester, Oklahoma, after a short struggle with cancer. Born Dec. 6, 1933, to Perry Lunceford (Lawrence) Rackley and Etta Margaret Sorrells Rackley in Nicoma Park, Oklahoma, Paul was 91 “and a half ” at passing.

Paul was a longtime resident of Maud, Oklahoma along with his wife of 49 years, Karolyn Kay Foreman Rackley and later in life resided in Eufaula Oklahoma with his second wife, Virginia Mae “Bobbie” Matthews Rackley.

He is preceded in death by both wives and his brothers Gordon Perry Rackley, Jimmy Dale Rackley, and his sister, Gladys Eula Rebecca Gilchrist.

Paul is Survived by his sister Patsy R. Nixon, Sons Joe Dean Rackley, Bobby Dale Rackley, and Steven Dahne Rackley and daughter Angela Dawn Bennett and seven grandchildren, and a host of great and greatgreat grandchildren.

At 16, Paul began driving trucks following the death of his father.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958 with an honorable discharge and then returned to truck driving with a total of 55 years pushing big rigs across the United States. Paul also loved guns, fishing, and had a passion for reading westerns and detective novels.

A funeral service will begin with a meal at noon on Saturday, July 12, four miles west of Eufaula at Deeres Chapel Full Gospel Church, 119158 S 4130 Road, Eufaula, Oklahoma with Pastor Larry McElyea officiating.
