The assault and battery charge filed last year against Stacy Lafavor, 55, a former Checotah Intermediate School Teacher of the Year, has been dismissed after reaching an agreement with prosecutors.

The dismissal order was issued on June 20.

Lafavor, formerly Coleman, allegedly was intoxicated on Oct. 27, 2024, when she entered a residence on West Gentry where her 90-year-old fatherin- law Johnny Lafavor was under hospice care.

An altercation broke out among family members over a dispute over how to transport Lafavor to a hospital, according to Probable Cause Affidavit.
