Friendship Kitchen Celebrates 12th Anniversary

In June 2013, the vision of serving nutritious meals in a welcoming atmosphere of friendship and spiritual acceptance became a reality in the Eufaula Lake community. On opening day, thirteen guests were served. Currently, Friendship Kitchen welcomes approximately 60 guests each week, offering both in-house and take-out meals. Friendship Kitchen is partnered with the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma and is Health Department certified.

Dedicated volunteers from several organizations help prepare these meals, including Eufaula First United Methodist Church, Community Culture Church, VFW Post 8798, Eufaula Auxiliary, Wayland Baptist Church, Lake Eufaula Christian Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Beta Iota Chapter.

Free meals are served every Saturday from 11:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Eufaula First United Methodist Church, located at 251 Matthews Lane, Eufaula. Everyone is welcome! Whether you are from the area or just passing through, we would love to meet you and serve you lunch., If you, your church family, a service organization, a business, or other volunteer groups are interested in learning more about this mission, please reach out to the Program Director, Margaret Kramer, at mghnurseok@aol.com or 918-617-3130.

The mission’s goals are to thrive for many years to come, welcoming more guests, especially families with children.

We also aim to provide our neighbors and friends with the opportunity to volunteer and experience the blessings of a giving heart.
