Allyssa Parker, a dominant two-sport star and OU softball signee, has been named the 2024-25 Gatorade Oklahoma Softball Player of the Year, for the second year in a row.
The 5-foot-11 senior right-handed pitcher and shortstop was nearly untouchable this season, powering Pocola to a 34-1 record and a trip to the 2A state championship game. Parker dazzled in the circle with a jaw-dropping 0.10 ERA, 28-1 record, one save, and 224 strikeouts. After losing their opener, the Indians rattled off 34 straight wins, with Parker leading the charge. Opponents hit just .097 against her, and she fanned nearly two batters per inning.
But Parker wasn’t just elite on defense, she terrorized pitchers at the plate, too. The reigning Gatorade POY smashed 15 home runs, drove in 45 RBI, and hit a staggering .667. Her .802 on-base percentage and 2.580 OPS were videogame numbers.
National scouts have taken notice. Parker is ranked the No. 7 overall prospect in the Class of 2025 by Perfect Game and No. 8 by Prep Softball.
And if that wasn’t enough, Parker also starred on the hardwood. She led Pocola’s basketball team to the state tournament, pouring in 26.2 points per game as a senior.
The Gatorade Player of the Year award honors athletic excellence, academic achievement, and exemplary character. Each year, it recognizes one standout in each of 12 sports in all 50 states and D.C., as well as national winners.
With numbers like these, Allyssa Parker isn’t just rewriting Pocola’s record books, she’s cementing herself as one of Oklahoma’s alltime greats.
