Abbie Patterson, a 10th grade student at Webbers Falls High School, has been named a delegate to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders to be held June 25-2 at the Lowell Campus of the University of Massachusetts near Boston.

Patterson is from Eufaula but attends school in Webbers Falls.

The Congress is an honors-only program for high school students who want to become physicians or go into medical research fields.

It is an event hosted by the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists which is based in Washington D.C. with offices in Boston.

Patterson was chosen based on her academic achievements, leadership potential and determination to serve humanity in the field of medicine.
