Plumb Theatre News
By MATTIE MALOY

Cookie Eller of Checotah has been wanting to play the piano and sing since she was about three years old, when she started singing in the Booster Band at Elm Grove Church. By the time she was about 10 years old, she was sitting on a piano bench watching the lady playing and asking questions. Those were her formative, musical years.

Soooo, 77 years later, not a whole lot has changed. Cookie is still singing and playing at churches.

One of her favorite places to play and sing is The Plumb Theatre in Longtown. Her brother, Jody Green, asked her to come and join him at the Theatre. After that first Friday night of Gospel Singing, she was hooked. She said such a wonderful atmosphere to share the Gospel in song.

We are looking forward to seeing her two children, six grandchildren, and her nine greatgrandchildren, with one due any day now!

You don’t want to miss coming to Plumb Theatre, April 25, 7 p.m., to help us celebrate Cookie’s 80th birthday. There’s lots of food, fun and of course, good Gospel Music.

We are expecting a full house, but we will make sure everyone has a place, if we have to load up the parking lot.
