OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Gentner Drummond is naming a new agent for the Office of the Attorney General: 13-yearold Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel.
President Trump honored the Texas native last night at the President’s address to a joint session of Congress. DJ, whose dream is to be a police officer, was diagnosed several years ago with terminal brain and spine cancer. Noting DJ’s career aspirations, Trump announced that the boy, who attended the event, is now an honorary U.S. Secret Service agent.
Drummond today issued a commendation naming DJ Daniel an honorary agent of his office.
“I was moved by DJ’s story and inspired by his courage, tenacity and his stated goal to be sworn into 100 law enforcement agencies,” said Drummond.
DJ exceeded that number long ago. In the years since his initial diagnosis, DJ has been sworn in by nearly 900 law enforcement agencies spanning the nation and beyond.
