The Oklahoma Highway Patrol on Monday, Sept.16, reported that a 60-year-old Eufaula man died on Aug. 30, a week after being critically injured in a collision with a trash truck.
The accident occurred at about 6:15 a.m. on Aug. 23 on county road NS 4110 about half a mile north of SH 9 three
See FATALITY, miles east of Eufaula.
Tracy Haley was driving a 2006 Ford F-150 southbound on the county road when he ran into a 2012 Peterbilt 337 trash truck parked in the southbound lane facing north to pick up trash, according to the OHP.
Haley was taken in critical condition to St. Francis Hospital in Muskogee where he later expired from his injuries.
Eufaula resident Bridgett Downum, 47, a passenger in Haley’s vehicle, was admitted to St. Francis in stable condition with head and neck injuries.
The driver of the trash truck was identified by the OHP as Christopher Martin, 45, of Eufaula. He was not injured.
