Douglas Allen Mc-Donald, 68, of Checotah, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024, at the St. Francis Hospital of Muskogee.
Doug was born on Sept. 7, 1955, in West Helena, Arkansas, the son of George Junior and Anna Josephine (Pryor) McDonald. He graduated from Eufaula High School.

tah. They were happily married for 42 years.
Doug worked as a mechanic for 35 years. He loved working on race cars, going on road trips, fishing and hunting. His favorite pastime was spending time with his kids and grandkids.
Survivors include his wife Cindy, of the home; son, Justin McDonald and wife Brooke of Checotah; daughters, Sara Jones and husband Matt of Warner, Christina Jackson of Sardis and Cheryl Francis of Sallisaw; brothers, Tubby McDonald and wife Julie of Eufaula and Tim McDonald and wife Robin of Broken Bow; sisters, Sandy McDonald- Hughart of Tuttle and Sheila Verhoef and husband Billy of Calvin, Louisiana; 11 grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, George Junior McDonald and mother Anna Josephine Barnes.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, at the Kelley Memorial Chapel with Billy Verhoef officiating.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Beaver, Marvin Armstrong III, Kevin Warrior, Ronnie Ross, Todd Simonetti and Jesse Chronister. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Jennings, Price Dunham, Steve Hockenberry, Delbert Beaver, and Billy Neal.
Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory.
