Timothy Dyerjean Westmoreland, 58, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Haskell, Oklahoma, on July 24, 2024. Born on Sept. 8, 1965, in Lawton, Oklahoma, Tim was the beloved son of J.D. Westmoreland III and Betty (Montgomery) Westmoreland.
A talented mechanic from a young age, Tim found joy in tinkering with cars and motorcycles.
His passion for working on vehicles was matched only by his love for the great outdoors, where he enjoyed camping and spending time in nature.
As a hardworking individual, Tim drove a truck for JJ Trucking Company of Muskogee, Oklahoma and cherished the freedom of the open road.
Tim’s greatest joy came from his family, particularly his three grandsons, with whom he spent countless cherished moments.
He is survived by his wife, Leslie (Johnson) Westmoreland, of Haskell, Okla.; his children, Jeffrey Westmoreland of Checotah, Okla.; Katelynn Westmoreland of Checotah, Okla.; and Garret Landis and his wife, Marcella, of Warner, Okla.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Gage, Levi, and John Landis, of Warner; his brother, Greg Westmoreland and his wife, Stephanie, of Corinth, Texas; his sister, Betsy Heckle and her husband, Nathan, of Checotah; and his sisterin- law, Naomi Tucker of Caldwell, ID, along with his nephews, Ethan Westmoreland of Corinth and Jeremiah Heckle of Checotah.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Isaiah Westmoreland.
A private memorial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 2, 2024, to honor and remember Tim’s life and legacy.
