Junita Bowers Pierce

Junita Bowers Pierce, 87, of Harmony House, Motley Minn., passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024. A memorial service was held Tuesday, July 30, at 11 a.m. at the Free Methodist Church in Motley. It was also live on their Facebook page at that time.

As Junita was a caring woman with a giving spirit, per her request she donated her body to help others at the University of Minnesota Medical School.

Junita was born on Dec. 23, 1936, to Alva and Thelma (Prickett) Bowers in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Hers was one of the first families of the twin territory in Oklahoma.

She lived most of her life in Oklahoma City, moving to Eufaula in late 1997 until moving up to Minnesota with her daughter and her family in 2013.

Junita is survived by sons Rick Pierce with children Amy and her husband Craig Rodrick and their daughters Shelby, Seline, Piper of Camdon, Mo.; Ken, wife Nicole children, Sean, Cassidy of Eufaula, Okla.; great-grandson, Chris, Gormley, Texas, Larry (Alan) son Alan, Albert, Okla., J Wife Shannon, Josh, Jordan, Jessica, Jackie of Eufaula, Okla.; Anita, and husband Glen Sutton; Ariel and husband Bruce Praska: Harley-Anne, Motley, Minn., Garrett Sutton, Motley, Minn. Cheryl Dawn, daughters Kayda, Thalia, Amaya, Joann husband and three boys, Christina Sons, JT, Jacob, of Moore, Okla., and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by spouse, A.J., son Larry, daughter Judith, grandson Chris Pierce, greatgrandson, Joseph, both Parents, Alva and Thelma Bowers, sisters Marie Coker Lane, Elaine Sanders, brothers William Alva, Jimmy and Albert with numerous aunts, uncles and grandparents.
