A 27-year-old McIntosh County man has been charged with second degree rape, lewd molestation, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and obstructing an officer.
The court entered a not guilty plea on behalf of Arnold Willard Carey Jr. on June 20 and he was released on a $50,000 bond.
Carey was ordered back to court at 9 a.m. on July 31 for a pre-preliminary hearing conference.
According to Deputy Sheriff Bailey Degraffenreid, he was dispatched to a rural residence after a 17-year-old juvenile was reporting missing.
Degraffenreid later discovered the female with the suspect in the parking lot of the Lake Eufaula Inn in Eufaula.
Deputy Matthew Youngblood joined the investigation at the motel.
According to Youngblood’s Probable Cause Affidavit, Carey said he met the girl on online service Discord and that she told him she was 19.
