The Checotah Wildcats were well represented at the Class 4A State Track and Field meet at Catoosa. University of Oklahoma commitment Elijah Thomas placed fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.97. Damontre Patterson edged out Thomas with a time of 10.46 to win the event.
Thomas placed sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.67 seconds. Gage Spencer of Bristow won the event with a time of 21.51 and Damontre Patterson was second with a time of 22.15.
Katelynn West placed 11th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 50.16. Shaden Walker of Anadarko won the event with a time of 45.56 seconds, Hadley Watson of Oklahoma Christian School was second with a time of 46.22 and Lucy Webb of Oklahoma Christian School placed third with a time of 46.74.
“I am proud of both of them. They put in a lot of work since January and I am happy to see it paid off for them,” Checotah head coach Zac Ross said.
