A tip last week pushed law enforcement to search a local pond for a missing Eufaula woman. Eight years ago Peggy McGuire went missing. She was last seen on November 16, 2015, dropping her son off at school, outside Eufaula and had spoken to her step-father while on her way to the home she shared with her son and his father. Her Toyota truck was recovered on November 18, 2015, from the parking lot of TJ’s Ice House Bar in rural McIntosh County.
Last Wednesday Muskogee County Sheriff’s Office received a tip that McGuire’s body was wrapped in chicken wire held down under the surface of a pond south of Washington Ave, in Oktaha. The sheriff’s office along with Muscogee Nation Lighthorse Police Department Dive Team searched the pond for approximately three hours but found nothing. They stated that they will continue to search for Mc-Guire to give her family answers and closure.
