The Oklahoma Libertarian Party will hold its state convention March 1st through 3rd at the Saddleback Inn at 4300 SW 3rd in Oklahoma City. In addition to the usual business of platform and by-laws amendments, the party will select delegates to the national convention as well as naming a slate of electors for the upcoming presidential election. 2020 Vice-Presidential nominee Spike Cohen will be the keynote speaker, also addressing the convention will be biochemist, author, and activist Dr. Mary Ruwart.
The OKLP was founded in 1972. At least fourteen Libertarians have held local elected office in Oklahoma since the party regained ballot access in 2016, with eight currently serving on city councils around the state. Over twenty-two thousand Oklahoma voters are registered Libertarian. The state will have its first Libertarian presidential preference primary on Super Tuesday as the Chase Oliver and Jacob Hornberger campaigns filed petitions in December to get on the ballot for the March 5th election.
