Legendary basketball coach John Wooden will forever go down as one of the greatest basketball coaches in history. Wooden won ten National Collegiate Athletic Association National Championships in 12 years including seven in a row. His advice is very much valued today and should be taught by coaches from all sports. Here is a quote that should marinate in today’s athletes’ brains.
“Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do. Don’t measure yourself by what you have accomplished, but by what you should have accomplished with your ability. It’s not so important who starts the game but who finishes it. It’s what you learn after you know it all that counts,”UCLA coach John Wooden.
This is so important in today’s high school athletics where teamsmanship and discipline are lacking.
