Checotah native Tyler Blizzard was named the new head football coach at Beggs. Blizzard has history at Beggs where he was the defensive and offensive lines coach in 2016-2017 and continued coaching for ten years at Beggs. He helped to lead the Golden Demons to a State Semifinals and State Championship runnerup game.
I believe coaching is a calling, and I feel called to return to Beggs to lead the program. We are grateful to the Beggs administration who believed in our vision. We have always focused our coaching on building relationships with players, staff and community and will continue to lead the football program at Beggs in that direction,” Beggs new head football coach Tyler Blizzard said.
Coach Blizzard had a great career playing for the Wildcats in high school. Once he graduated from Checotah, he attended Northeastern State University. While attending NSU Coach Blizzard knew he wanted to become a high school teacher and coach. So he began his coaching career just a year after graduating high school where he was a student assistant for the Checotah Wildcats.
Coach Blizzard assisted the Wildcats for four years while gaining his college degree. Upon graduation from NSU Coach Blizzard accepted the defensive line position at Beggs.
Blizzard has coaching stints at Beggs, Checotah and Rejoice Christian.
