The Eufaula Lady Ironheads struggled in the Atoka Basketball tournament going l-for-3. On Thursday Eufaula battled Pauls Valley and won 43-29. Eufaula was led by Kambry Williams and Allie Anderson on offense as they combined for 29 of Eufaulas 43 points. Williams was hot from the perimeter as she hit four three-point buckets in the game. Maddie Ballard and Kate Pippenger along with Johna Bumgarner tormented the Pauls Valley point guards. Eufaula outscored Pauls Valley 15-1 in the first period and 11 to 6 in the second period to take a 26-7 lead.

Eufaula head coach Nick Yarbrough did a great job of substituting his bench and giving playing time to his reserve players.

In Friday’s action, Eufaula was on the receiving end as the Idabel Lady Warriors ran roughshod over the Lady Ironheads 73-36. The Lady Warriors outscored Eufaula in every period and scored at will. Eufaula trailed 19-7 after the first period and 15-14 in the second period as Idabel led 34-21.

Eufaula’s defense could not stop the Lady Warriors’ presence in the paint and on the perimeter as they had two players score 21 points each and had a total of eight players score in the game.

Eufaula fought to defend and rebound in the fourth period as Idabel scored 20 points to Eufaula’s three points to seal the 73-36 victory.

Kambry Williams led Eufaula with 12 points, Anderson seven, Johna Bumgarner and Jadence Efurd each scored six points each.

On Saturday, Eufaula fell to Madill in a close game 39-34. Eufaula struggled in the early moments of the game as Madill outscored the Lady Ironheads 11-7 but Eufaula bounced back after an uplifting speech by Eufaula head coach Nick Yarbrough. Yarbrough then saw his team hold Madill to zero points scored in the second period while scoring 10 points for the Lady Ironheads.

Kambry Williams scored 3 points, Kate Pippenger, Maddie Ballard each scored two points and Jadence Efurd added three to take a 17-11 lead into the halftime break.

The second half was a defensive battle as each team made great plays on both ends of the court. Madill outscored Eufaula 19-13 to win the game.
