Eufaula City Manager Jeb Jones says remodeling of the old city hall building at North Main Street and Memorial Drive should be finished sometime between March and May.
“It’s coming along,” Jones said on Thursday. “The supervisor of the job is saying it should be done in March, I say May.”
The building has a new roof.
“It has a little leak on one side, but the contractor is aware of that and they’re fixing it,” Jones said.
Interior concrete was poured more than a week ago.
“They’re starting to do masonry work and to block in the old entrance. Framing material is supposed to be delivered next Tuesday (Jan. 2), then later in the week a crew will start framing,” The City Council approved the $885,000 project at its Sept. 12 meeting.
Cunningham Construction was the low bidder.
Jones said when the project is completed the city will sell the building it currently uses for city hall at 17 Hospital Drive.
