The Oklahoma State football team makes its second appearance in the TaxAct Texas Bowl when it takes on Texas A&M at 8 p.m. CT on December 27 at NRG Stadium.
It will be OSU’s fourth bowl game played in Houston, as the Cowboys have a 2-1 bowl record in the city with appearances in the 1983 Bluebonnet Bowl, the 2002 Houston Bowl and the 2019 Texas Bowl.
The Cowboys, who are 9-4 overall and finished second in the Big 12 standings, take on an Aggie team that is 7-5 on the year and finished fourth in the SEC West.
OSU is making its 18th consecutive appearance in a bowl game, which is the sixth-longest active streak in the nation. Among the 41 FBS teams with a minimum of 30 bowl appearances, Oklahoma State ranks No. 1 with a .636 winning percentage. The Cowboys have won five of their past seven bowl games, with the most recent win coming via a 37-35 defeat over then No. 5 Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl at the end of the 2021 season.
The 2023 Texas Bowl marks the 29th meeting between Oklahoma State and Texas A&M, with the series dating back to 1913.
