WILL NOT BE CHIEF
Col. Roley McIntosh of Fame was interviewed recently by a Journal representative as to the truth of the rumor being circulated throughout the country that he is to be a candidate for Chief at the next Creek election.
His reply to our query was a positive denial of the rumor.
“I am done with Creek politics,” said he, “and do not wish my friends to shove me forward for anything. I desire the fact to be generally known and therefore speak for publication. I appreciate the loyalty of my political friends, and am grateful that I can say for the honors they have conferred upon me in the past, but that will not cause me to yield to their importunities in the coming champaign for the Chieftaincy.”
