Native American Heritage Month
November is Native American Heritage Month. Oklahoma is home to 38 federally recognized tribes.
The United States is home to 574. Research Native Americans through the library’s databases.
Fundamentals of Academic Art II
Budding artists, ages 9 to 18, are welcome at the Fundamentals of Academic Art II Classes held Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Nov. 18Dec. 20, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the library’s Follansbee Room.
Level II of perspective art. Participants learn and use art vocabulary and art techniques in creating colorful memories. Experience with Art I suggested. Youth 12+.
SAIL
Staying Active and Independent for Life for Seniors. Meet Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:30 a.m. This is a fitness program for older adults which can be done standing or sitting to improve strength, balance and stamina.
A registration packet can be picked up at the library.
Storytime
Thursdays, 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Creative story time shared and read aloud and followup activities.
Family Bonding
Will Hill, Native American storyteller, will be featured at 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20. It will be an evening filled with engaging and entertaining stories while the family shares laughter and bonding activities in a warm, fun setting.
Teen Pendulum Painting
Friday, Nov. 17, 3:30 p.m. Come create a painting using our pendulum swing. All supplies will be provided. Wear clothes that can get messy.
Tai Chi
Beginners, Mondays, 11 a.m. (except for Nov. 13).
Advanced, Mondays, 1 p.m. (except Nov. 13).
