No. 16 Oklahoma defeated the Cincinnati Bearcats 20-6 Saturday in the first Big 12 Conference game for Cincinnati. OU quarterback Dillon Gabriel completed 26 of 38 passes for 322-yards and two touchdowns. Oklahoma (4-0, 1-0 Big 12) outgained Cincinnati (2-2, 0-1) 322-202 through the air.
Cincinnati’s points came on two field goals. The Bearcats (2-2, 0-1) have gone 15 straight drives without scoring a touchdown.
Gabriel looked great as threw the long balls to Nic Anderson and watched as the Oklahoma defense was relentless against the Bearcat offense. Key Lawrence intercepted Cincinnati quarterback Emory Jones threw a pass into double coverage in the end zone on one drive.
The Bearcats did outgain OU on the ground with 141 rushing yards to 103 yards for the Sooners. OU finished with 425 total offensive yards with 322 yards coming from the air.
