(Message posted by Eufaula school administration Tuesday)

Monday evening Eufaula Schools Administration was made aware of a threatening social media message. The message was investigated throughout the evening and there was a follow-up message that indicated this was sent as a joke. Eufaula Schools take all threats seriously and have worked throughout the night and this morning with local authorities to insure the safety of our students and staff. We appreciate the assistance of our local law enforcement in all matters of school safety/ security. As usual, there is an armed resource officer on site at each school site.

Update to previous message/post: The source of the threatening message has been identified as a student in another school district. Law enforcement and administration in that school district are handling the incident. At this time we feel there is no threat to Eufaula Public Schools.
