That is a big question and I will need more than this article to answer, but I will do my best. I believe an “ideal” Church is a Church that knows the difference between a preference, a tradition and an essential. I think this is best reflected in a famous quote from a relatively unknown German theologian Rupertus Meldinius, “In Essentials Unity, In Non-Essentials Liberty, In All Things Charity.”
