Whether a team is struggling or undefeated, local sports teams need to be supported. Student-athletes need to know that their efforts are going noticed. When athletes look up in the stands and no one is standing and cheering or singing fight songs, there is a problem. As fans, parents and supporters we need to encourage the students that are representing our schools. One of the worst things one can do is sit down and not clap, cheer and just sit there with a disgruntled face. Come on, this is smalltown America. We take pride in our communities and we need to take more pride is supporting our local high school sports team.
